MALAYSIAN FILM FACTS
1. LAILA MAJNUN
Laila Majnun was the first film in the history of cinema malaysia published in 1933 and played by M. Suki, Fatimah Jasmin and directed by B.S Rajhans. There is no known copy of this film is still there.
2. IBRAHIM PENDEK
Ibrahim Pendek is the first actor in the history of Malaysia that has appeared in Hollywood. He plays as a physician assistant to Burl Ives and also starring Rock Hudson and Gena Rowlands.
3. HANG TUAH

Hang Tuah is Malaysia's first color film. Published in 1956and directed by Phani Majumdar and played by legendary actor P. Ramlee.
However, due to the expensive cost of producing a film in color, the Malay Film Productions was forced to cancel the intention to publish the next color film.
4. PANGGILAN PULAU
Panggilan Pulau is the first Malaysian film to be reproduced (remake). The original version Panggilan Pulau in 1954 and the new version 40 years later in 1994.
5. SILAT LEGENDA
Silat Legenda is Malaysia's first animated film and published in 1998. The film was produced at a cost of RM 6 million, but only grossing RM 141,700.
6. MAT GELAP
Mat Gelap is the first Malaysian film combines animation and acting( live action animated). Published in 1990, directed by Zarul Albakri and narrated by Imuda .
7. LITAR KASIH (1996)
Litar Kasih (Circuit Love) is the first Malaysian film labeled 18SX. Directed by Eddie Pak the film was banned in Television.
8. PUTERI GUNUNG LEDANG
Puteri Gunung Ledang is Malaysia's most expensive film. Published by the cost of Rm 16.6 million, but only a return of Rm 2.9 million.
